As part of a growing group of environmentally conscious individuals, we are dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for honoring our loved ones once they have departed

We are three women from Iceland who teamed up to combat rising greenhouse emissions, prompted by our personal experiences of arranging or assisting in funeral plans after losing someone close to us. We realized that there was a need for more environmentally conscious options for those saying goodbye to their loved ones.

Following many brainstorming meetings, we came up with the idea of creating urns out of recycled paper and other natural materials. In the fall of 2022 we founded Aska Bio Urns ehf. and developed the idea further and had our first urns produced in the spring of 2023.
